Fiona

Fiona is a 1 1/2 yr old female Shar Pei.
She loves to chase her toys with her friends Barbie (bassethound) and Soku (jindo), eat her tasty Rachel Ray biscuit treats, and our favorite is when
she shakes her wonderful flappy cheeks from side to side! Our baby, Fiona!
Carmine
Carmine is a 6 year old
Frenchie, and a total love sponge. He and I won a look-a-like contest that was
hosted by Dick Van Patten and Linda Blair. He is named after the piazza in
Milan, Italy where the famous opera house 'La Scala' is situated. He enjoys
destroying squeak toys as fast as he can, loves his baby cousins Mario and
Luigi, and is a complete ham when a camera is nearby.
Mellersh

“My name is Mellersh (pronounced MellOWsh) and I was named after the Alfred Molina character in the movie Enchanted April. I was born in Bakersfield 2 years ago, the middle pup in a litter of seven. My owners chose me because I seemed to be the calmest. Even then I had them completely fooled. Today my home is in historic Hancock Park. Some of my favorite activities include jumping up on people, spilling water, sleeping on the furniture when no one is home, chasing my 4 cat friends, and then cowering in my crate when they so much as look at me cross-eyed. My dream is to be a lap dog. Your lap is big enough for me. I insist!”

Captain Hook

"I like biting
fingers because fingers taste good.
I like
sleeping because I need to.
I like
cuddling because humans are great.
I like my tail because it’s hooked.
I like my “uncles” because one has six toes on four paws,
his name is “Sixtoe”
I love my scratching post because “sixtoe” doesn’t like it.
I think I’m a parrot because I like being on shoulders.
I am BLACK!!!
I love waking people up by jumping on the bed and biting
peoples toes whenever they move.
I think I’m invincible but my uncle questions my status.
I am going to ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!!!
I’m a lucky, black, feisty, LOVED, hooked tailed kitten! "
Fat Chung

FAT was born on 04 July, 1994 which makes him 17 years old!! He’s half Cocker Spaniel and half Terrier (possibly half Chihuahua) and is one of the cleverest; if not smartest dogs we have ever met. He loves food and will stick to you like glue until you give him some of what you’re eating. He loves to play and will fetch any soft item you throw across the room. He will also get on his back and force you to exhaust all your efforts in picking him up. He’s great with kids (as some have tried to ride him), loves to be treated like a princess (although he’s a male), and has been known to cheer you up when you’re feeling sad or gloomy. He has a full time job of giving love and has never taken any vacation breaks. He is listed on Times and Forbes unofficial magazine as the world’s best dog valued over a gazillion dollars!
Gracie Abrams

"I had seen Gracie’s photo on Facebook as posted by a friend with the words “AT SOUTH L.A SHELTER-DIES TOMORROW!!!” next to her photo. Something about those soulful eyes and the way she was sitting so calmly and confidently suggested a dog beyond her years. A dog beyond her species.
We were both reluctant at first, Gracie and I. It wasn’t
because I necessarily wanted a dog. I mean, I did - I love dogs - but the first dog I ever had
on my own, my soul dog, my angel a feisty dachshund/terrier mix named Clara
died just a few months before and I felt that in some way I was dishonoring her
by even thinking of getting another dog. Gracie didn’t want to leave her
friends behind- the dogs she’d taken under her wing and the people she’d
nuzzled when they came into her pen bringing food. But something happened the
minute she came into my bungalow (and by bungalow I do mean a small casita next
to another small casita) she felt right at home. I know this because she
climbed onto the couch and went to sleep, completely unbothered by the
construction going on outside.
I look forward to our walks. I look forward to coming home and seeing her half-snoozing on the couch. I look forward to taking her in the hills and introducing her to all those dogs that I’d meet on my solo journeys. I’m constantly on the brink of crying when it dawns on me that a great gift has been given to me: a gift of a life, no doubt-but also the gift of a lifelong friend."
